James is one of the world's leading experts on the expansion of NATO since the Cold War. He is a former adviser to the US-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission at the US Department of State. James is now a columnist for Asia Times and his articles and essays have appeared in a wide variety of publications including The Nation, The American Conservative, Responsible Statecraft, The Spectator, UnHerd, The National Interest, Quartz, the Los Angeles Times and American Affairs. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and did post-graduate work at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
Thaddeus Russell is the founder of Unregistered Academy, host of the Unregistered podcast, and author of a Renegade History of the United States. He received his PhD in United States history from Columbia University and taught history and international relations at Columbia, Barnard College, The New School for Social Research, and Occidental College. He is completing a history of American relations with the world for Grove Atlantic.
